I seem to have slipped out of my sewing phase. It might have something to do with being thrown into my harvest phase. It also has something to do with starting school which we did at the beginning of the month.
The Fashionista made some really, really cool shorts for DQ Bakerette's birthday. Actually, they started out as shorts for her, that turned out too small. She has some odd issue with modifying patterns - she's had a couple turn out small. She'll learn though. In the meantime, DQ Bakerette will enjoy her mistake, while The Fashionista will feel sad every time she sees said shorts on her sister. The shorts are all wrapped up waiting for DQ's return. I'll have a post forthcoming with her handmade gifties.
In the meantime, you have until Thursday, August 25 to download patterns from the Commercial Pattern Archive for free! Just go here, sign in using "guest" as the login and "pattern" as the password, then click on search and go crazy. These are not full-sized patterns, but if you can transfer to scale you can use them. Even if you are just starting out with pattern modifying and drafting, save the patterns you really like and maybe you can use them later.
Now I'm off to have cake and ice cream, and a good time with family!
